Welcome

A warm welcome awaits you on every visit to our home, Priory View Bed & Breakfast.

We are centrally located in the small village of Coldingham, 2 minutes walk away from pubs with eating facilities & the historical Priory. Coldingham has a beautiful sandy beach and many secluded coves.

Back in 1963, Priory View was once the police station/police house for Coldingham - now it has been transformed into our home which we hope will make you feel at home too!

Nearby are golf courses, excellent diving sights at St Abbs and Eyemouth, and fishing opportunities at lochs, rivers and the sea. You can also do a spot of bird watching at St. Abbs Head nature reserve, and if you are feeling energetic there are many cycling and walking routes.

About us

Paul & Dawn O'Callaghan

Welcome to Priory View, home of Dawn & Paul O’Callaghan. We relocated here from Newcastle Upon Tyne in May 2004 as we could not resist the scenic and relaxed atmosphere of Coldingham & the surrounding area. Paul's passion is diving and with St Abbs just around the corner as a world class diving destination, he is able to put to excellent use his experience and skills as a BSAC advanced nitrox diver and dive boat skipper. St Abbs can boast the country's best and most varied marine life, making the area very popular with divers. Priory View caters for divers through our boat charters and lockable heated dry room. We also have free wi-fi. Our boat charters are available every day. Tel: 07780 980 179

Golfers Welcome

There are numerous golf courses in the region and we have played at both Eyemouth and Haggerston Castle. What is classed as the most extraordinary hole in the UK is located on the Eyemouth course, whereas Haggerston Castle course is ideal for beginners. You can hire all the necessary equipment like clubs, trolleys etc for a small fee. There are over 20 local courses that should suit all skill levels and the majority are within a 20 minutes drive. Discounts are also available for Priory View guests at Eyemouth 18 hole links course. The heated dry room is also available for your wet clothes on those rainy days.

Walkers Welcome

Dawn loves to walk all over the village to keep fit. The routes can be quiet and the views from St Abbs Head are fantastic. We provide a booklet with 14 walks ranging in length from 2 miles to 6 miles varying from a nice leisurely stroll to a more adventurous hike. The one you choose may be determined by how fit you feel after one of our large breakfasts!! The booklet also contains a variety of information about the village such as the history of the body snatchers as well as the origin of the famous saying “To cut off your nose to spite your face”. The heated dry room is also available for your wet clothes on those rainy days.

Bikers Welcome

As Paul has been a biker for many years, we know how hard it is to get bike friendly accommodation. We have off street hard standing parking and a lockable dry room. Whether it is for a knee down blast or a quiet ride out, there are fantastic roads with great scenery to satisfy everybody.

Cyclists Welcome

Cyclists come from all over the UK to ride on our scenic quiet roads. Cycling has become a very popular pastime in the Borders with a variety of routes along with spectacular views and beautiful countryside. Signposted cycle routes and colour coded trails offer levels to suit all abilities. The heated dry room is also available for your wet clothes on those rainy days.
